In the heart of the Sundarbans, nestled in Madhusudan Chowk, lies Nibedita Shishu Shiksha Niketan, a school run by the Poribes Foundation. Our mission is clear to provide quality education to the children of this region. Despite numerous challenges, our commitment to this cause remains unwavering.
Recently, our school faced a significant setback. A powerful cyclone named Remal swept through the Sundarbans, causing extensive destruction. The temporary structure of our school was severely damaged, presenting us with the daunting task of rebuilding. However, this adversity only strengthened our resolve to create a more permanent and resilient structure capable of withstanding future cyclones.
One of our most significant achievements has been the construction of proper toilet facilities for the students. Before this, there were no toilets at the school, and maintaining hygiene was a significant issue. This situation posed serious health risks and hindered the creation of a safe and conducive learning environment.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we have built permanent and proper toilets for both girls and boys. These facilities are more than just structures; they represent our commitment to the health and well-being of our students. Now, the children at Nibedita Shishu Shiksha Niketan can use clean and safe toilets, and they are learning the importance of proper hygiene.
